Barbue, housed in the preserved old ticket office in The Hoxton Llyod Hotel in Amsterdam, is a cocktail bar with South American and Argentinian influences. The heritage of the building and the old ticket office is acclaimed through Italian highlights and hints of Argentinean culture in their cocktails.

 

Preserving the original timber panelling, light chandeliers and reinstating what would have been the original paint colors we set out to creating an impressive, yet approachable destination. The traditional monumental appearances, such as the wooden wall coverings were in its original state, becoming the inspiration for the newly designed bar which blended into the space seamlessly. To balance out the unique character of the space and dark, rich tones of the wood, we opted for a mix of string geometrical patterned fabrics and bespoke designed rugs.
