The last addition to the full renovation of Hotel de L’Europe is Freddy’s Bar. The bar pays homage to Alfred “Freddy” Heineken, the legendary figure behind Heineken beer and Family owned Hotel de L’Europe. This gentleman’s pub, a cornerstone of Amsterdam's social scene, has been a beloved spot for both locals and visitors to connect. In 1998, the bar was aptly renamed Freddy's, reflecting its deep connection to the hotel’s storied past. Fast forward to the summer of 2023, Freddy's has undergone a meticulous renovation. The transformation breathes new life into this iconic venue while preserving its rich heritage.

The design integrates color tones of pea green, ox blood, caramel and tobacco, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The renovated grand café features chandeliers, lace curtains, and elegant Amsterdam curlicue hand painted lettering. A central reading table and high tables by the window offer guests the perfect spot to enjoy a aperitive with a stunning view over the Amstel River. This project exemplifies our dedication to blending historical authenticity with contemporary design, ensuring that Freddy’s Bar remains a cherished gathering place for years to come.
