Within Hotel de L’Europe confines MENDO, a disseminator of books and literature. MENDO presents a thoroughly curated selection of visually inspiring titles covering the fields of art, design, architecture, and urban subculture.
 

The interior of the bookstore aims to evoke the ambiance of an English library with a contemporary twist and a cozy living room rather than a typical retail space. This atmosphere is crafted through carefully considered seating arrangements, including single chairs and benches, encouraging guests to leisurely peruse the books and discover titles that pique their interest. The central table is designed in such a way that it can be used for multiple occasions, so the space can adapt to multiple functions instead of only remaining a bookstore. Adding large curtains, with decorative fabrics by Dedar, the space can instantly be transformed into a special evening setting. Adding to the feeling of a living room, are custom made rugs by Frankly Amsterdam designed by Nicemakers. The space is accentuated and furnished with a selection of vintage pieces, creating a perfect mix of vintage and contemporary, unique to the Nicemakers style.
