Situated between Amsterdam’s Museum Quarter and the prestigious P.C. Hooftstraat, this project transforms the ground floor communal areas of the Jan Luyken townhouse hotel. Nicemakers executed a sophisticated restyling brief aimed at evoking the immediate warmth and effortless comfort of a private residence. The design reconfigures the arrival experience with a freestanding, island-style reception desk that mimics a welcoming kitchen counter, complemented by tactile wallpaper tucked into bespoke shelving niches. Layered with an eclectic mix of contemporary furniture and antique market finds curated from the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy, the public spaces exude a cozy, lived-in energy tailored for the modern urban traveler.
